Rangers take Third as they destroy Mousers 6-0
New York - The Rangers finished the season ranked third in V.251 thanks to a 6-0 defeat of The Mighty Mousers, along with the Bosie Allstars losing to The Stupid People. The newest Ranger, Dave Boellaard started his Ranger career off well when 9 minutes into his first start he buried the ball in the back of the net. Four minutes later, Mats Ohrsjo could have put the Rangers up two goals, but he missed his PK, it was ok though, as he collected the rebound and put it in making it 2-0 Rangers. Maurice MacCabe, made it 3-0 on a perfect volley off of a cross from Jaiwant Satyanarayana. One minute later in the 18th minute, Seth Luke drove down the left and was able to beat the Mouser defense to make it 4-0. The game slowed after that and the Rangers went into the half with the 4-0 lead. The second half saw more scoring opportunities for the Rangers but they were unable to convert them until the 83rd minute, when MacCabe hit his second of the game after spliting the central defense. Charlie Cockrell finished off the scoring in the 88th minute off of another cross from Satyanarayana. This was after recieving his third yellow of the season, which would have forced him out a game but it's the last game of the season. The Rangers are now on break for the next few weeks, with only a home-home friendly series against fellow KC team KC Dynamos.

Rangers Pull into Third Place Tie
Missouri - The Rangers pulled into a tie for third place thanks to a 5-2 victory over The Stupid People and The Bosie Allstars tieing Island Jazz. The tie also assured the Rangers of a top four finish. The Rangers though had trouble at the beginning of the game though, as Frank Skaggs scored in the 8th minute after coming from the left side. The lead lasted for 11 minutes before in the 19th minute, Mats Ohrsjo hit his 9 goal of the league season after the People defense made a mistaken pass. Maynard Moon almost put People back in the lead on a scissor kick but it went right over the bar. The half time score was 1-1. In the second half the Rangers laid it on in groups, as Maurice MacCabe scored his 7th goal for the Rangers in his first season with the team, making it 2-1 in the 52nd minute. Two minutes later, Jimmy Ouellette made it 3-1 as he split the central defense of the People. In the 82nd minute, Danny Gamez made it 4 for the Rangers as he headed home a cross from Jaiwant Satyanarayana. Less then a minute later, Ohrsjo added his 10th goal of the season on a free kick, making it 5-1. The People were able to get one back though in the 83rd minute as Skaggs sent in a good cross that Moon buried in the side netting. It wasn't enough though, as the final score was 5-2.

South Carolina - The Rangers pulled within two points of third place with a win on Sunday against Island Jazz 3-1 in South Carolina. The Rangers took the lead early with Seth Luke giving the Rangers the early lead. This lead was doubled in the 18th minute when Mats Ohrsjo hit his 8th goal of the league season making it 2-0. One minute later the Rangers increased the lead to 3-0 on a volley by Danny Gamez. This is how the half went as the Rangers were working up and down the wings. For much of the second half the Rangers continued to dominate the game but couldn't finish the chances. In the 63rd minute, Jazz lost Joan Kruger to a second yellow card offense. Jamal Bobo lost the shut out though in the 77th minute when Juan Carlos Jaurequi on some great individual effort. The win puts the Rangers closer to clinching a prize spot in the league as they move 3 points clear of Jazz with two games to play. The win, and a lose by the Boise Allstars to Else United also gives the Rangers a shot at third. Two wins by the Rangers, and one more lose by the Allstars and the Rangers will take third.

Rangers blow early lead, fall to United
Missouri - The Raytown Rangers started off great in front of 18,000 plus at Rangers Park last night for the match between the Raytown Rangers 82 and Else United. Mats Ohrsjo got the Rangers going in the 18th minute with a free kick that beat the United keeper. Six minutes later, Ohrsjo added his second goal beating the defense down the side. Thinks then started to go down for the Rangers, as two minutes later, Kenneth Fay scored making it 2-1. On a questionable PK call, Larry Bradford tied the game for United in the 35th minute and the teams went into half tied at 2. Things continued downhill in the second half, as in the 52nd minute, Fay added his second goal of the season. Johannes Bjelkåsen made the lead 4-2 by slashing through the Ranger defense. Two poor plays by the defense allowed Fay to collect two more goals in the 72nd and 77th minute as Fay finished with four goals. "Fay has always killed us, we need to find a way to stop him." Said captain Danny Gamez after the game. The game finished at 6-2 United.
Rangers MOTM: Ohrsjo Rangers Lose Second Straight
California - The Rangers lost their second game in a row, losing this time to the second place team Red Mambas 5-2. The Rangers twice fought back from Deficits to tie the game, but the Rangers, playing a laid back game preparing for upcoming games did not come through in the clutch. Edwin Reilly opened the scoring for the Mambas in the 4th minute after beating Pagan in the middle of the field. Jimmy Ouellette tied the score for the Rangers after a run down the wing in the 11th minute. Four minutes later, Bobby White beat Bobo and scored making it 2-1 Mambas. The Rangers again came back tieing the score with a goal by Maurice MacCabe in the 21st minute. Right after half, Bobby White scored his second and made it 3-2 Mambas. Twenty minutes later, White scored his hattrick on a free kick. Brian Delville finished off the scoring for the Mambas in the 78th minute.

Sell Out Crowd Watches Rangers Lose.
Missouri - The Rangers in front of a capacity crowd watched their Rangers fall to the visiting Berserkers 3-2. The Rangers got off to a terrible start when Jose Carlos Echeverri put the ball away in the first minute of the game. Two minutes later, Marvin Hackett picked up a card for a foul on Matthew Moore who had to leave the pitch and is out for 4 weeks with the injury. In the 10th minute, the Rangers struck back with Charlie Cockrell scoring the goal for the Rangers. In the middle of the first half Jeffrey Valdez moved down the left side and put the ball in the net, making it 2-1 Rangers as the teams headed into half, in the back and forth game. Early in the second half though, the Berserkers came back as Echeverri scored his second of the game. Then in the 65th minute Wilburn Bartley scored a goal giving the Berserkers the lead with his game winner. The win was devastating to the Rangers, as the lose drops them into fourth in the league, and with two games against the Mambas and Else coming up, their 6 point lead on the Island Jazz could disappear very quickly by the time those two teams meet in three weeks.

Maryland - The Rangers won their third straight game with a 4-1 win over the Beltsville Titanz, in Beltsville. The win was the second in a row, outscoring the Titanz 9-2 in the two games. The Rangers opened the scoring in the 10th minute when Mats Ohrsjo connected from the penalty spot making it 1-0 Rangers. 15 minutes later though, Titanz Donaciano Del Taco equalized after a great run down the wing. Again the Rangers ran into card trouble, as Seth Luke joined Charlie Cockrell as a second player to recieve his second yellow of the season, one away from a suspension. In the 32nd minute though, Maurice MacCabe scored for the Rangers making it 2-1 Rangers. The half ended with Cockrell almost extended the lead but missed the open net as the Rangers went into half time with a 2-1 lead and controlling the ball. In the 71st minute, the Rangers were given a second penalty kick that Ohrsjo converted for his second goal of the game and a 3-1 lead. Danny Gamez who a week ago had a hattrick joined Luke and Cockrell on the verge of suspension as he picked up a yellow. MacCabe finished off the scoring for the Rangers attoning for a miss earlier in the half when he capitalized on a mistake by the Titanz defense making it 4-1 Rangers in the 83rd minute, which is how the game ended.

Rangers Reach Half Way Point
Missouri - The Raytown Rangers reached the half way point of the season on a high note, defeating the Beltsville Titanz 5-1 at Rangers Park. The Opening of the game did not go the Rangers way though, as in the 32nd minute Wesley Schmidt put the ball away for the Titanz. The game was very physical, as each team recieved yellow cards. In the 43rd minute, the Rangers started an amazing 3 minutes before the half ended. Seth Luke started it all with a great cross that was finished by Maurice MacCabe. One minute later, Danny Gamez took matters into his own hand and hit a rocket to give the Rangers a 2-1 lead. Finally in stoppage time, Danny Gamez scored agin making it 3-1 on another cross by Luke. The Rangers totally dominated the first half. The second half was more of the same, as in the 55th minute, Gamez scored again making it 4-1 and finished off his hattrick, the first of his career. Charlie Cockrell finished off the scoring for the game two minutes later as he split the Titanz defense and beat the goalie making it 5-1. The Rangers did have some bad news though, as they lost winger Jeffrey Valdez for a few weeks due to a shin injury. The game ended with each team recieving two yellow cards and the Rangers dominating play. The win helped the Rangers keep pace with Else United and Red Mambas who also one. Halfway through the season, the Rangers are in third, eight points out of first though, and 5 points out of second. The good thing for the Rangers though, is that they are 6 points clear of playing a qualifier and 10 points clear of relegation. The Rangers play the Titanz again next week in Beltsville in a return match of this weeks game.

California - The Raytown Rangers pulled off a big upset tonight, defeating the third place Viking Berserkers 1-0. The game was back and forth with both teams having their chances in a very physical first half. The Berserkers were given two yellow cards in the half, one resulted in the Rangers losing central defender Miguel Pagan to injury. Sub Matthew Moore though came in and played well in replacement. Pagan will be out for five weeks with the injury though. In the second half, Mats Ohrsjo missed a chance to put the Rangers up as he missed a penalty kick in the 50th minute. In the 57th minute, Danny Gamez broke through and scored making it 1-0. The Berserkers also recieved their third yellow card. The Rangers were able to hold on to the lead and take over third place in the division.

Rangers Routed at Home
Missouri - The Raytown Rangers fell for the second week in a row, this time at home in front of a record crowd of 11,677. The Rangers started the game out strong as they have many times this season, with Mats Ohrsjo being the recipient of a great cross by Seth Luke in the 8th minute. Ohrsjo finished his chance and put the Rangers up 1-0, but it went down from there for the Rangers, as in the 15th minute, Tim Leavitt equalized 1-1. Then five minutes later, Bobby White added a second goal, making it 1-2 Mambas in the lead. That's where it remained going into the half. In the second half, things continued to slide for the Rangers, as in the 59th minute, Brian Delvalle scored to make it 1-3 Mambas. Five minutes later, Edwin Reilly added another goal, making it 1-4. Finally, in the 68th minute, Tim Leavitt added his second of the game making it 1-5 Mambas, sending the Ranger fans home with a sinking fealing. After the game ended, Rangers owner Mike Kuhn called a press conference in his box to annouce the firing of head coach Elwood Beard, who took over just before the first game of last season. "The club needs to head in a different direction and Elwood is not in those plans, we wish him the best." Mike said that the club has been in search of a replacement, and named Swede, Stefan Henriksson as the new head coach, who will coach his first game in the away leg of the friendly that the Rangers will play at Cumberland FC.

Rangers Lose Game, Bobo again
California - The Raytown Rangers lost their first game of the league season, dropping the road game to table leaders Else United. The Rangers were able to take the early lead, when in the 7th minute, Danny Gamez scored his first league goal of the season to give the Rangers the lead 1-0. After that though, it was downhill, as in the 17th minute Kenneth Fay scored his first of three goals in the game, tieing the game at 1-1, which is where the halftime score stood. In the 47th minute, Greg Aldrich scored off a corner from Fay to give United the lead. In the 77th minute though, Fay was unable to make his penalty kick, as Jamal Bobo made he save. In the 80th minute though, Bobo couldn't stop the shot, and fay had his second goal. He followed that up with his third in the 86th, making the score 4-1. In the 88th minute injury again caused the Rangers to pull Bobo, he will most likely be back for the game next week against second place Red Mambas.

Rangers Go 1-1, knocked out of Open Cup
Missouri - The Rangers went 1-1 this week, losing and ending their Open Cup run, but winning their league game. Both games were played at Rangers Park. In the Open Cup game, the Rangers played Real United FC, losing 3-0. The Rangers played well in the first half, playing good defense. In the second half though, things started to go down hill, it started when starting goalkeeper Jamal Bobo went down with a knee injury and had to leave the game. Bobo will be out for 2 weeks with the injury. Gordan Storey came in for his first action in a meaningful game. The pressure of the game had to get to him as Storey gave up three goals in the final 34 minutes of the game. The Rangers could not make up for the lack of a midfield presence and United exploited it.

Missouri - The Rangers were able to come back from the lose though, and Storey settled down, as the Rangers defeated Island Jazz at Rangers Park today. Maurice MacCabe opened the scoring early, scoring in the 6th minute of the game. Five minutes later, Mats Ohrsjo added to that lead, beating both Jazz central defenders one on one. After some close calls by the Jazz, Jeffery Valdez put the Rangers up 3-0 again beating the Jazz central defense. The Rangers dominated the majority of the first half. In the second, some rookie mistakes by Luther Squires resulted in a goal for Robert Miller, making it 3-1. No sooner had the Jazz closed the gap, when Ray Britton again split the central defense, and scored his first career goal making it 4-1. Again after the goal things went down hill again, as the Rangers lost Charlie Cockrell to a knee injury that will keep him out for 3 weeks. Maurice MacCabe kept trying to extend the lead but was unable to finish his chances as the Rangers won the game 4-1

Maryland - The Rangers had trouble getting going, but were able to come back and pull out a tie at Claridge FC in league play. Jed Garrison opened the scoring for Claridge with a goal off of a Juan Arcaya corner. The Rangers for the first time all season were being dominated in the midfield, they were unable to gain an advantage. In the 29th minute though, Mats Ohrsjo came through again for the Rangers putting the ball in the net for his 2 goal of the season, tieing him with Luke for the team lead. In the second half it was mush of the same, as the Rangers were just out worked to the ball. Final was 1-1. The tie ends the Rangers winning streak at four.

Rangers Advance to Third Round of Cup
Texas - The Rangers moved on to the third round of the US Open Cup with a 3-1 win over Presidents of VI.699. Rangers started the game off sloppy though, giving up the first goal of the game to Brad Jones in the 28th minute. The Rangers came back though, three minutes later tieing the score at one with Matthew Moore scoring the goal. In the 37th minute, Seth Luke made President's Lonnie Hinson look silly beating him and putting the ball in the net and making it 2-1 Rangers. The Rangers got lucky right before the end of the half as Brad Jones shanked a penalty kick in the 42nd minute. Right after the half, Mats Ohrsjo made the Presidents pay for missing the penalty as he himself put one away making it 3-1 Rangers. The Rangers dominated the rest of the half but were unable to capitalize on their oportunities as they finished the game and advanced on to the next round, 3-1. The Rangers now play Real United FC out of Seattle. The game will be at Rangers Park next Wednesday.

Rangers Open League Season with Big Win
Missouri - The Raytown Rangers opened the new league with a big win against FC Dragons 1896. The Rangers took the home opener right to the Dragons winning the game 4-0 and dominating the majority of play throughout the game. Charile Cockrell opened the scoring for the Rangers in the 24th minute after driving down the left side of the field. Three minutes later, the Rangers doubled their scoring with Seth Luke putting the ball in the net. After that, there was a string of injuries causing the Dragons to use two of their substitutions to sub injured players. After the injuries, Luke was able again to get down the Dragons left side of the field and put in his second goal of the game in the 41st minute. That was the score at the half as the Rangers dominated play. In the second half, the Rangers continued to dominate play with Jeffery Valdez leading the charge, but he was unable to finish his chances. New transfer, Maurice MacCabe finished off the scoring in the 62nd minute making it 4-0 in the Rangers favor. That was how the game ended as Jamal Bobo picked up his first shutout in net and the Rangers dominated the entire game.
Before the game it was announced that first team division V.251 player Kelly Dietrich had been sold on transfer to the Chimera Hordes a team in a different division 5 series. The team wished Kelly the best of luck.

Rangers Lucky in Cup
Idaho - The Rangers got lucky today in their first Cup game of the season. A 89th minute goal by Shannon Logan pulled the Rangers up from almost tieing division 6 opponent the Idaho Wizards. Mats Ohrsjo opened the scoring in the 36th minute beating Wizards keeper Rory Henderson, who played a great game. The Wizards though equalized one minute later with a goal by Bertin Cartier. And the teams went into half with that score. Despite the Rangers controlling the play, they were unable to score, with Henderson making numerous big plays. In the 89th minute though, Logan slipped through and put in the game winner.

Logan shines in qualifier
Missouri - Kuhnscoot United forward Shannon Logan shined in his first start for the team, replacing suspended forward Kelly Dietrich. Logan scored a hattrick as United buried the Nevada Strikers 5-1. Mats Ohrsjo opened the scoring in the ninth minute with a goal off of a free kick. After Ohrsjo's goal, Logan hit the first two of his goals to finish off the half and United went into the locker room up 3-0, dominating the majority of play. The second half was much of the same, but the Strikers broke through on the right side once and Jody Cumella finished the chance making it 3-1. United struck right back though, as four minutes later, Logan finished off his hattrick. Luther Squires finished off the scoring for United scoring in the 85th minute to make it 5-1 United. The win keeps United up in division five for another year.
After the game it was announced that next year Kuhnscoot United will change team names and colors from red and yellow, to blue white and red and change names to Raytown Rangers 82.
